In association with the Leeds Digital Festival 2017, Insider presents this business breakfast looking at the growth stories of digital technology businesses here in Yorkshire.
Flying in from Los Angeles, Wells Fargo Capital Finance managing director John Leonard will tell us what types of business the bank is looking for to invest a new $500m fund and what opportunities it sees here in the UK.
Sky Bet’s presence in the region has seen it develop exponentially since it focussed on being a tech business based in the north. It now employs more than 1000 staff in Leeds and Sheffield, and recruits hundreds more each year. Chief Executive Richard Flint will explain the journey the gaming giant has taken in his eight years running it.
And EMIS Health, which was founded by two North Yorkshire doctors to solve a GP practice notes problem, now has a market cap of £600m. Its Group Strategy Director Matt Murphy will tell us how the company grew and how he sees the future for digital health technologies. We will also be adding rapidly growing, Yorkshire-headquartered, SME digital businesses to the panel.
Attendees will hear from one panel of businesses on their growth stories and one panel of facilitators and advisors about financing options, talent pipelines, public sector initiatives and the benefits of tech clusters.
