FW Capital is investing in future talent and rewarding high performing individuals after announcing the promotion of Alex Gent in the firm’s North East office.

Alex Gent has been promoted to Senior Investment Executive, following FW Capital’s ‘Career Pathway’ programme which delivers a structured approach for staff to gain relevant experience and future progression.  A qualified Chartered Accountant, Alex has extensive experience working with local businesses seeking growth funding. She will continue to help deliver the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) loans to help businesses across Tees Valley to reach their potential.  The job role boost mirrors areas of growth for FW Capital and supports the demand for investment by businesses across the region.

Alex Gent, Senior Investment Executive at FW Capital said: “It has been a pleasure to work with so many ambitious SMEs and professional advisers since joining FW Capital, who are working to grow and add value to the Northern Powerhouse region. Seeing how the local economy has evolved, with a pandemic and economic turmoil thrown in for good measure, and being able to continue playing a small part in that has not only been a fantastic platform to develop professionally, but also to appreciate the resilience of the business community. I have to give a special mention to the FW Capital team past and present. I am grateful to have had such a fantastic group of people to work with throughout, who have provided second-to-none support.”

Joanne Whitfield, North East FW Capital Fund Director, said: “It has been brilliant to see Alex’s development since she joined the team and her promotion is very well deserved. She has a detailed understanding of the challenges facing growing enterprises in the North East, building strong commercial relationships and working hard to provide financial solutions to help. Investing in colleague development and recognising and rewarding talent is so important to us at FW Capital and enables us to deliver the best service we can to North East businesses.”

Sean Hutchinson at the British Business Bank, said: “Investment from NPIF- FW Capital plays a crucial role in spring boarding businesses in Tees Valley towards success. The team at FW Capital provide strategic know-how to businesses across the region and Alex will be a vital part of this process, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.”

FW Capital can provide loans of £100,000 to £750,000 in the NPIF region with a focus on Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, and the Tees Valley.

The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund project is supported financially by the European Union using funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the European Investment Fund.

FW Capital Limited is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as a small authorised UK Alternative Investment Fund Manager under firm reference number 506719.
